Just like fashion, what’s ‘in’ when it comes to cocktails changes year to year, with ever more creative and delicious drinks available to try. With this in mind, we’ve done the hard work for you and found the best cocktail trends for 2022. So grab a pal and get ready to experience a taste sensation at The Yards.
If you fancy something that’s low or alcohol-free for that next catch-up with your mates, you’re not the only one! Low-alcohol drinks continue to grow in popularity with lots of delicious options now out there to try, including low-ABV cocktails. Our restaurants at The Yards are never ones to be left behind, with creative serves for those looking for a no and low-alcohol cocktail that still packs a flavour punch.
Visit Maison Bab to try out ‘The Remedy’, made of CBD oil, Three Spirit Herbal elixir, lemon & egg white or stop by Bill’s for a glass of their ‘Cherry Blossom and Raspberry Spritz’ which sees Everleaf Mountain served over ice with Bill’s Pink Lemonade.
A modern take on a classic
They’re classics for a reason, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t room to try something different when it comes to our most-loved cocktails. Next time you’re visiting The Yards, whether it’s for a first date, a long-awaited catch-up or after-work drinks with colleagues, try a twist on an old favourite.
Stop by Warehouse for a taste of ‘The New Fashion’ which features flavours of aromatic white truffles from Italy, grounded with sherry’s toffee sweetness. Alternatively, head to Dishoom for their version of an Espresso Martini, which uses chilli liqueur for an extra kick.
First it was gin, now Tequila is the must-try spirit of the moment, but where should you try this Mexican spirit? Where else but our very own Café Pacifico! Celebrating its 40th birthday this year, the restaurant serves up a variety of margaritas and other tequila-based cocktails, making it a must-visit. We recommend the ‘Bleeding Dove’, with lime, pink grapefruit, pomegranate, agave nectar and grapefruit soda combined with the spirit.
Or visit one of the newcomers to The Yards, Lahpet, for their take on a zingy Margarita, made with betel leaf infused tequila and jaggery syrup.
Ingredients:
Method:
Serves one (double ingredients for two)
Ingredients:
Method:
To make the Betel leaf infused tequila: decant the whole bottle of tequila into another sealable vessel, add 4 betel leaves sliced into ribbons and allow 4 to 5 days to infuse. This intensifies the pepperiness of the tequila and adds bitterness.
To make the Jaggery syrup: Add 1 cup of jaggery (muscovado or demerara sugar will suffice) to one cup of water; bring to a boil and simmer until dissolved. Leave to cool.
For the lime juice: Squeeze 2 to 3 limes by hand or with a citrus fruit press and sieve the juice to remove the pith.
To Serve:
You will need:
A Martini Glass
The garnish: Pink Himalayan Salt (or the best quality salt you have to hand)
Method:
Add salt to a saucer or small plate
Coat half the rim of your glass in lime juice and then dip the rim into the salt rotating the glass halfway
Shake the tequila, syrup and lime juice with plenty of ice and strain into your glass
